Sonnet 1

Wide smiles with vacant eyes,

Gripped flesh devoid of feeling,

Laughter echoes in disguise,

Barriers stripped, interior peeling.

Melodies warped to fractured sound,

Expressions shift to dour,

Ambition and heart aimlessly bound,

Sunrise glow now midnight hour.

Reality drifts, abstract and hollow,

Thoughts twisted, wicked in design,

Future obscured and lost to follow,

Darkness seeps, my mind entwined.

O’ faith within, heed this anguished plea,

For my marred soul drowns beneath the sea.
